CCUS stocks in action as FM announces Rs 20,000 crore push in Budget 2026'27 As on : 01-Feb-26  12:48

Shares of companies linked to Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies were in action after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in Union Budget 2026'27, announced an outlay of Rs 20,000 crore over five years to scale up CCUS projects and enhance technology readiness across sectors. The funding aims to accelerate adoption of carbon capture solutions in industries such as power, steel, cement, and oil refining.

Indian companies expected to benefit include Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) (down 0.55%), Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (down 1.68%), Wipro (up 3.30%) and Infosys (up 1.01%), which could see growth opportunities through technology deployment, industrial infrastructure, and clean energy integration.

The Finance Minister highlighted that the initiative will not only support green and sustainable industrial practices, but also strengthen India's readiness for emerging carbon management technologies. Experts say the government's focus on CCUS is likely to stimulate both engineering and technology sectors, boost R&D in industrial decarbonization, and create new avenues for investment in clean technologies.
